About Us

History

From a social group to a community based association The Filipino-Australia Community was founded in 1990 by the late Manny Carreon as a social bowling group of Filipinos. Later in 1992, the group was incorporated and became the non-profit organisation it is still today.

Objectives

- To foster and encourage greater understanding, cooperation and interaction amongst Australia's multicultural society. - To promote the Filipino heritage, culture, traditions & values via the organisation of social, recreational and community service - To facilitate the provision of information regarding various programs and services to the Filipino-Australian community on the Gold Coast - To provide opportunity for cultural exchange between Ethnic groups - To assist and provide support to new arrivals in their settlement experience - To promote research into the social condition of the Filipino-Australian community on the Gold Coast - To assist and consult with existing community services to develop more appropriate and relevant services for migrants - To raise funds and make donations for charitable and community purposes - To take any action deemed necessary in the promotion & attainment of the objectives of the association and for the benefit of the Filipino-Australian Community
